Subdiffusion in a system with a partially permeable partially absorbing wall

چکیده

We consider subdiffusion of a particle in one-dimensional system with thin partially permeable wall. Passing through the wall, can be absorbed certain probability. call such wall absorbing (PPAW). Using diffusion model discrete time and spatial variable, probability densities (Green's functions) describing have been derived. Knowing Green's functions we derive boundary conditions at The take specific form which derivatives fractional order controlled by parameter are involved. assume that absorption occur only when jumps It is not possible to temporarily retain inside represent membrane. Learning with Partially Absorbing Random Walks

We propose a novel stochastic process that is with probability αi being absorbed at current state i, and with probability 1 − αi follows a random edge out of it. We analyze its properties and show its potential for exploring graph structures. We prove that under proper absorption rates, a random walk starting from a set S of low conductance will be mostly absorbed in S. Moreover, the absorption...

A Partially Observable Markovian Maintenance Process with Continuous Cost Functions

In this paper a two-state Markovian maintenance process where the true state is unknown will be considered. The operating cost per period is a continuous random variable which depends on the state of the process. If investigation cost is incurred at the beginning of any period, the system wit I be returned to the "in-control" state instantaneously. This problem is solved using the average crite...

Molecular Signal Modeling of a Partially Counting Absorbing Spherical Receiver

To communicate at the nanoscale, researchers have proposed molecular communication as an energy-efficient solution. The drawback to this solution is that the histogram of the molecules’ hitting times, which constitute the molecular signal at the receiver, has a heavy tail. Reducing the effects of this heavy tail, inter-symbol interference (ISI), has been the focus of most prior research. In thi...

Prediction of trapping rates in mixtures of partially absorbing spheres

The combined effects of diffusion and reaction in heterogeneous media govern the behavior of a wide variety of physical and biological phenomena, including the consumption of nutrients by cells and the study of magnetic relaxation in tissues. We have considered the so-called ‘‘trapping problem,’’ in which diffusion takes place exterior to a collection of fixed traps while reaction occurs at the...

A new partially autonomous camera control system

The minimal invasive surgery is commonly used in clinical practice. The advantages such as less complication rate or shorter recovery time are unquestionable. But the lack of direct touch feedback and a narrow field of view makes this approach difficult for the surgeon to apply. To make the procedure easier, supportive systems are being build. One of the above is the camera control system const...
